Urodynamic testing is a measurement of voiding function. Typically this test measures voiding volumes and rates and bladder and urethral pressure. This test is also referred to as customer to cystometrogram. The doctor will order this test to further diagnose and treat these patients who may suffer from urinary incontinence or urgency and frequency on incomplete emptying. The test is painless and usually takes 20 to 60 minutes and is performed in the doctor’s office. It involves placing a small catheter in the urethra and bladder filling the bladder with water while recording bladder pressure.

It is virtually risk-free and involves minimal discomfort associated with the local anesthetics injection.

The treatment is usually surgical in the form of a sub urethral sling. The surgery is fast, minimally invasive and outpatient.

Behavior modification or physical therapy have been employed as treatment modalities. Medication are commonly used to relax and overactive bladder.
